Already more than a third of voters are not convinced the UK will leave the EU, just one week on from the referendum; an Ipsos MORI poll for BBC Newsnight suggests.
The poll also shows 48% of people now agree that there should be a General Election before the UK begins any Brexit negotiations.
Growing awareness of:
- The legal and constitutional complexity;
- concerns about the ‘false prospectus’ set out during the leave campaign; plus
- the increasingly clear impact of Brexit on the economy, and people’s lives and livelihoods are all being more and more widely voiced.
It’s not unreasonable to join those saying, given what we now know: we might be wise not to follow through with a decision to leave.
